You can choose to have your family photos taken at my north Spokane studio or at an outdoor location in the Spokane area. For family photos I love areas like Peaceful Valley or Mirabeau Park as the light is great for family portraits in those locations.

What time of day will we be shooting?
For outdoor sessions, we typically schedule about 90 minutes before sunset—this gives us the soft, warm light that makes photos look their best. If you’re booking a studio session, we can schedule at a time that’s most convenient for you, since lighting is fully controlled indoors.

Where is the best place to take family photos in Spokane?
Spokane has a variety of great options for family photos. Many families choose outdoor locations like Peaceful Valley, Mirabeau Point Park, or in River Front Park in downtown Spokane. Others prefer the comfort and controlled lighting of a professional studio. I offer both options—sessions in my north Spokane studio or at outdoor locations around the Spokane area—so you can pick what works best for your family.

Can we include extended family in our family photo session?
Yes, depending on the package you choose. My premium package is designed with enough time to photograph larger groups, making it perfect for family reunions or multi-generational portraits. The entry and middle packages are best suited for smaller immediate families since they don’t allow enough time to properly photograph everyone.

What is the difference between editing and retouching?
Editing makes your photos look their best by adjusting things like color, brightness, and contrast. Retouching focuses on the little details—like smoothing skin or removing distractions—while keeping everyone looking natural. Most photographers include basic editing, but retouching is often an extra service, which is why we make sure it’s part of every session so your family photos look polished and timeless.

How much do family photo sessions cost in Spokane?
Family photo sessions in Spokane vary depending on the photographer and package. My sessions start at $425 and include the choice of a studio or outdoor location, plus options to upgrade with additional images or products. During a consultation, we’ll go over the details, so you know exactly what’s included before your session. A deposit of $199 is due to reserve your date.

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor family photo session?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can either move the session into my Spokane studio or reschedule for another day. I always keep backup plans in mind.
